LifeMap, the digital photo album that grows up with you

The LifeMap is a touch-screen digital photo storing and organization product. After tagging photos with people, places, and keywords, the LifeMap organizes the images in a way that users can easily document their lives over time.
I began this project researching families’ scheduling and organization habits. Through surveys and interviews, I discovered that organizing and storing family photographs is a particularly taxing and troubling process.

I set out to a design a product that made organizing family photographs a more meaningful and intimate experience. My early concepts were focused on designing a computer program interface until I realized that by designing the LifeMap as its own product, I can make the user experience more meaningful than it would be as software on the family’s PC, which is used for mundane tasks.
